Eating Home

I always hoped my daughter would return home after college but I didn't dare dream she'd return with such a ferocious focus. Before she donned her cap and gown, Linnea, along with three other recent graduates, schemed a year of eating 100% local food. No sugar. No butter. No flour. No beer. The only things that would go in their mouths were plants and critters they'd harvested or killed with their own hands. They didn't have the skills to pull it off. And that was the point. There were things their elite educations didn't (couldn't) teach them. Stepping away from the convience of supermarkets would force an education that involved fishing poles, rifles, shovels, chainsaws and outboards. If you'd like a glimpse of what they've learned check out Linnea's website, locovoresak.com. It's fun romp through an amazing year.
